My life as an office worker has never been easy. There are times that I get overwhelmed from all the responsibilities handed out by my boss and often get into stressful situations. Stress makes me look older and increases my anxiety. But of course no one wants to be stressed in the first place. There are ways to beat stress! STRESSED can turn to DESSERTS spelled backwards :-) Here are my list of ways to lessen stress:
1. Keeping a personal journal
Writing in a personal journal gave me an opportunity to reflect on my life. Every night before I go to sleep, I write my plans, ideas and tasks that I need to remember and do. Writing helps free up my mind for focusing on other things. It also helps me recognize the blessings God has given me as I write down the good things happened in my life.
2. Taking one task at a time
Doing one task at a time will lessen stress and gives me more time to focus. Better results on a task can be achieved if you put all your efforts in to it and if you are well concentrated.
3. Owning a cat
I love cats! I admit that I am a crazy cat lady who takes care of 9 cute and cuddly felines! Cats are known to improve moods and reduce stress. Having quality time with them calms my nerves and boost my mood. I hug and kiss them! They are my instant de-stressors! Having them around me and snuggle with me makes me feel better as I enjoy the unconditional love of my cats. I play with them and make sure that they are in good health. And did you know that cat's purrs has healing powers? The vibrations coming from them when they purr is known to be medically therapeutic for many illnesses.
4. Bonding with good friends
One way of coping with stress also is having quality time together with your good friends! I feel so blessed to have friends who inspires me to be a better person. They are there for me in good times or tough times. They give me helpful advises when I have problems at work and they serve as my support system. It is really good to have friends who will be there for you when you need them.
